Helping You Heal, Grow,
and Thrive
Meet Nicole Fouché
Qualifications: BA Law (UP), BA Honours in Psychological Counselling (UNISA), MCouns (Edin)
Choosing to begin therapy is a personal step, and it helps to know a little about the person one might work with beforehand. Nicole Fouché offers online counselling and psychotherapy in Pretoria for adults, adolescents, and children.
A psychotherapist and counsellor, Nicole is dedicated to supporting individuals, children, and adolescents through life's challenges and joys. Her approach is client-centred, empathetic, and grounded in modern psychotherapeutic methods. She aims for clients to feel heard, respected, and understood.
Being client-centred means clients are at the heart of the work. Instead of applying a single method to everyone, Nicole tailors her approach to each person's needs. For some, this may involve practical tools for managing anxiety; for others, gentle exploration of grief, difficult relationships, or painful pasts. She provides a warm, non-judgmental space where clients don't have to perform or arrive with all the answers.
Nicole initially trained in law before shifting to psychological counselling, studying in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Her qualifications include:
- BA Law, University of Pretoria
- BA Honours in Psychological Counselling, University of South Africa (UNISA)
- Master of Counselling, University of Edinburgh, focusing on Interpersonal Dialogue
Her Master's degree is recognised by SAQA as equivalent to a Master's in Counselling Psychology in South Africa. She is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) in the UK (MBACP, membership no. 418298) and with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP) in South Africa. Her registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is in progress.
You are welcome to confirm this independently on the BACP public register.
Nicole values human connection and believes healing and growth are personal, evolving journeys. Her philosophy emphasises therapy as a partnership, recognising clients as the experts on their own lives. She offers support, perspective, and a steady presence as clients find their way. Relationships often seed difficulties but are also pathways to healing.
Her aim is to provide a safe, compassionate space in Pretoria where individuals, adolescents, and children can heal, grow, and thrive. She strives to meet each person with empathy, respect their pace, and guide them towards fuller, happier lives.
Her practice serves adults facing overwhelm, significant life events, or long-standing patterns; adolescents dealing with mood, anxiety, identity, and relationships; and younger children through play therapy. She also involves parents when appropriate, to ensure support continues between sessions.
The Heart of
My Practice
At the centre of my work is a deep commitment to human connection and the learning that happens in relation to others. I believe that healing or growth is not a one-size-fits-all process, but a personal and evolving journey. This belief shapes my philosophy, the compass that guides every conversation, every session, and every life we're privileged to walk beside.
To provide empathetic, evidence-based psychotherapeutic support that empowers individuals to live fulfilling lives.
